These four cards were attached inside the June, 1968 issue of Family Circle magazine. They were advertisements for Mazola oil, Skippy peanut butter, and Karo corn syrup, and each card features a simple recipe using one or more of those ingredients.

You know, I remember these. My mother had a leather covered recipe box in the 1970's. I think she sent away for them in one of the magazines she use to read.
I had to look at the ad twice because I instantly thought, "Oil and ice cream???" Then I realized it was Karo and peanut butter for the bottom recipes. Phew! I knew they were wild in the '60's but oil in ice cream would have been really crazy.
Found you via Shabby Bungalow - I LOVE your blog, and look forward to visiting again!
Amy,
I'll bet she did send away for them from a magazine! How interesting. I've seen a lot of those types of offers and always wish I weren't 30 years to late to send away for them.
her shabbiness,
ha ha! After seeing some of these old recipes, I almost wouldn't have put the oil and ice cream recipe past them.
Lidian,
Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm glad you like the blog and I hope you do visit again!
